Rules without the fine print

How to play both games

Every round is resolved instantly in your browser. The controls stay the same on desktop and mobile: choose a bet, act, and read the status line for the result.

Three-reel slots

  1. Choose a stake. Bets are 10, 25, 50, or 100 credits per spin.
  2. Press Spin. The stake is deducted immediately, then each reel stops on one of six symbols.
  3. Read the paytable. Three matching symbols pay a multiplier. Exactly two cherries pay 1×. Everything else is a loss.
  4. Keep playing or reset. Your balance is saved in this browser. Reset bankroll restores 1,000 credits at any time.

The demo's published slot paytable has an approximate return to player of 90.3% across many spins. Short sessions can vary widely.

Six-deck blackjack

  1. Deal. You and the dealer each get two cards. The dealer's second card stays face down.
  2. Hit or stand. Hit takes another card; stand keeps your total and reveals the dealer's hand.
  3. Double once. On your first two cards, double your bet, take exactly one more card, and end your turn.
  4. Compare totals. The dealer draws to 17 and stands on all 17. A natural blackjack pays 3:2; a tie pushes your stake back.

Aces count as 11 unless that would bust the hand, in which case they count as 1. There is no split, insurance, or surrender in this lightweight version.

Transparent math

Slot paytable

All three reels use the same six symbols. Payouts are multipliers of your bet. The table below is the complete paytable used by the game.

Slot machine payouts by combination and bet multiplier
Combination Payout Example on a 10-credit bet
Three sevens80×800 credits
Three diamonds40×400 credits
Three stars25×250 credits
Three bells15×150 credits
Three lemons12×120 credits
Three cherries8×80 credits
Exactly two cherries1×10 credits
Anything else0×0 credits

How the 90.3% figure is calculated

Each reel is independently uniform across six symbols. A specific three-of-a-kind has a 1 in 216 chance, so the six triple payouts contribute (80 + 40 + 25 + 15 + 12 + 8) ÷ 216 = 0.8333. Exactly two cherries has a probability of 15 in 216 and pays 1×, adding 0.0694. The combined expected return is 0.9028, or about 90.3%. This is a mathematical property of the demo paytable, not a promise about any individual session.

Randomness and privacy

How the games stay honest

No server decides your result. The slot reels and the blackjack shoe are generated by local JavaScript each time you play, using the browser's cryptographic random number generator.

Unbiased reel sampling

Each reel stop comes from crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, avoiding the modulo bias that a naive random % 6 can introduce.

Six-deck blackjack shoe

Cards are shuffled with a crypto-backed Fisher–Yates shuffle. The shoe is rebuilt when fewer than 20 cards remain. Dealer stands on all 17, including soft 17.

No tracking scripts

The page loads only its own CSS, JavaScript, icons, and manifest. There are no analytics, advertising, social, or font requests. Your balance is stored only in localStorage.

Accessible by design

Semantic landmarks, visible focus styles, 44px+ controls, reduced-motion support, high-contrast colors, and live status messages make the game usable with a keyboard or screen reader.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

The short answers below are also published as structured FAQ data so search engines and AI assistants can cite the page accurately.

Is Golden Reels free to play?

Yes. Golden Reels is free and uses virtual credits only. There are no deposits, purchases, subscriptions, ads, or cash prizes. You start with 1,000 credits and can reset the bankroll at any time.

Can I win real money on Golden Reels?

No. Golden Reels is a play-money demo, not a gambling operator. Credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged for real money or prizes.

Does Golden Reels work on mobile?

Yes. The game is a responsive HTML5 static site that works in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on phones, tablets, and desktop computers. No download or account is required.

How does the slot machine pay?

Three matching symbols pay according to the published paytable: three sevens pay 80×, diamonds 40×, stars 25×, bells 15×, lemons 12×, and cherries 8×. Exactly two cherries pay 1×. With uniform reels, the demo's approximate return to player is 90.3%.

How is the game kept fair?

The slot machine samples each reel with crypto.getRandomValues and rejection sampling, so every symbol is equally likely. Blackjack uses a shuffled six-deck shoe. All outcomes are generated in your browser; no result is fetched from a server.

Does Golden Reels store personal data?

No account or email address is collected. Your credit balance is stored only in your browser's localStorage and can be cleared by resetting the bankroll or clearing site data. The game makes no analytics or advertising requests.

Can I reuse or self-host the game?

Yes. The code is released under the MIT License and the written content is available under CC BY 4.0. The deployment bundle is self-contained: copy the dist folder to any static host. Attribution is appreciated but not required for the code.
